You can start claiming your profile by clicking here. While going through setup, you'll be asked to login into and link your supported platforms to verify your identity.
Search profiles are designed for individual creators, publishers, and organizations who are actively creating content and have an established online presence. To be eligible for a profile, you must have a public profile with at least 100,000 followers on a single supported platform—Instagram, YouTube, or X. If you only have a public profile on TikTok, you must have at least 300,000 followers.
Search profiles are currently available in the US with plans to expand to other countries later in the year.
Once you've claimed your profile, you can visit “profile.google.com/account” to access your profile on the web, or tap your avatar in the Google App and navigate to “Your Search profile.”
People can see your profile when searching for your name or handle on Google Search, or from seeing your content on Google Discover. If you don't see a Knowledge Panel appear when you search for your name, it can be because there are other individuals or organizations with similar names.
If you don't already have a Knowledge Panel, you may get one when you claim your Search profile. You can think of a Knowledge Panel as a visual snapshot of your information—once claimed, it can highlight your featured posts, platform profiles, and direct people to your Search profile. Your Knowledge Panel will also feature an AI generated summary based on your bio to help people learn more about you.
If you already have a Knowledge Panel, it will be enhanced after setting up your profile. Along with the existing features, you'll now see an updated avatar next to your name, your latest posts, platform profiles and a link to your Search profile.
If you've already claimed your Search profile and you don’t see a Knowledge Panel appear when you search for your name, it can be because there are other individuals or organizations with similar names.
No, it enhances your existing Knowledge Panel. For individuals and publishers, claiming your profile directly shapes your knowledge panel, adding key elements from your profile — like your profile photo, added links, and pinned posts — to your Knowledge Panel.
For businesses and brands, your Knowledge Panel will remain unchanged and connected to your Google My Business or brand profile.
